"Nokia Info Guide"
Nokia is always bringing out new models. Every year. They are great for innovation. There is a
reason behind their vociferous development: For every new phone they bring out, there will be a
hoard of hungry customers who want the 'latest' Nokia, purely because it IS the 'latest'. But wait.
Think about WHY they bring out phones all the time. Because people clamour to get the latest for
the sake of HAVING the latest. And then think - the first batch of phones are the ones with the
glitches. If you buy within the first 3 months of a phone's launch you are a Guinea Pig, testing
out the phone for Nokia, and it will be you who has the problem and has to get it repaired.
That said, Nokia has had a VERY good track record for reliable phones. Their only let-down was the Nokia 8210,
which had repeating screen problems.
Apart from the 8210, almost ALL other Nokia mobile phones
are reliable.
You will find newer phones than those listed below. However, these are the newest ones that
have had enough time on the market to be 'Guinea Pig' tested (i.e. other people have bought them,
experienced the problems, and Nokia have fixed the problems, or there were no problems).

A high quality, digital camera phone. To be honest, if you want a camera phone, dont bother with anything
else. All others camera phones have poor image quality. It is larger than other phones, but if you
want a high quality camera phone, it is the only one worth touching.

The Nokia 8850 is basically the Nokia 8310 with a sliding phone cover over the keyboard, no FM Radio and seriously
less availablility. As such it is a great phone. Just the same as the Nokia 8310 is.

Nokia 6310i -

This is in essence, the Business Man's Nokia 8310 (not that the 8310 is not for business people -
the 6310i was simply designed with business people in mind)
It has the same features of the Nokia 8310 except for the FM Radio. It has GPRS (fast internet connection -
faster than 'normal' 56k computer modems), with Internal modem, PC synchronicity (which means you can make the
PC 'talk' to the phone, and use similar software) and is data compatible. It also has a large infrared port
strip around the top of the phone, which means it is great for infrared data links to your laptop, especially
while on a moving train (the larger the infrared strip, the less direction-specific the infrared connection
needs to be - i.e. the phone can move around with the train and not lose the data connection).

Some would say a ladies phone, but guys, dont listen to them! An awesome, small, pocket friendly,
easy-to-use Nokia, with FM Radio (and free twin-ear handsfree eariece that makes listening to the radio AND
talking on the phone a much higher quality experience and much easier to hear. Great for drowning out street noise
etc when you are on the phone).
It comes with the handy Nokia 'Personal Organiser', so for those of you that need the odd prompt to remember
the doctors appointment, business meeting or wedding anniversary, you can set an alarm and a message to go
off at any given point in the future. So don't ever forget that anniversary or birthday! No excuse.
The only thing to be said against it is that if you have BIG hands, then you may have trouble
with the small keypad - if this is you, then you should go for the Nokai 6310i. Conversely, for those of you with less-than-meat-slabs for hands, its size
means you hardly notice it in you pocket. Follow the "more info" link to see the life size picture.
As a personal aside, we all use the 8310, and we dont have small hands! ...

The Nokia 5210 is a good phone, great for active people, as it is the most waterproof and dustproof (so
good for craftsmen, and painter, carpenters etc).
BUT - The screen is less than perfectly supported, so if you sit on it, the screen will crack. That is
the only fault that can be levelled at the Nokia 5210 ... so if you like the look of it, or need a
waterproof / dustproof phone, this one's for you ... just dont sit on it !

The Nokia 3410 is essentially the modern version of the Nokia 3310 and the Nokia 3330, both good, reliable
models. Nokia's logic has basically been 'If it aint broke, dont fix it - just come up with something you
can call "New" '.
And that, give or take a few new games, is all it boils down to.
The main difference the Nokia 3410 has over the Nokia 3310 and the Noka 3330, is its Personal Reminder,
where you can set yourself timely reminder note to "Go to the Doctors", with an alarm call.
The previous 3--- series Nokia's are no longer available on pay-monthly billing
(although you will find them on pay-as-you-go), so this is the one that
will be available to you.

In short, this is the Nokia 3310 with WAP (Wireless Application protocol - like the internet, but
slower and less). If you are using this in a country that does not have Data networks (e.g. most of
Africa), dont bother with this. get the Nokia 3310, below, because you will pay extra money for
something you cant use.
